Birthday Party featuring Alice Browne

Alice Browne, mother!,wife!, singer, songwriter, artist, teacher, Music Therapist and Sound Healer, is a native of Minnesota who received her Bachelor of Science in Music Therapy from Augsburg College in 1984. She is currently studying Sound Healing- a journey which began at Normandale Community College.  She has worked as a freelance Music Therapist at geriatric& other facilities throughout the metropolitan area. She also spent 17 years leading music therapy groups at the Peace House, a drop in facility for homeless, addicts and people struggling with mental health and/or life issues. In the last 25 years she has worked with a diverse array of clients of all ages from hospice patients to young children getting their first experience with music and art. She has also performed as a singer, songwriter, guitarist and fiddler as a solo act and in a duo with her husband, Don, as the “Playin’ Folks!” They have one recording, called “Amusing Grace.” Periodically, throughout her life time, Alice has taught lessons privately in music with art offerings as an extension of her work in community settings. She has exhibited her artwork throughout the metropolitan area in a variety of venues. She has learned the importance of community thanks to having 7 older siblings. Alice is passionate about people, music and art. She lives in South Minneapolis with her husband, their 21 year-old daughter who is a jr. at the U., their 105 year old dog, Lucky and 3 year old cat, Ivy.
